What is really happening in the tribal villages of Balaghat, Madhya Pradesh?
The Lallantop travelled to the ground to understand the health crisis affecting children in remote Baiga and Gond tribal communities. Reports of more than 30 child deaths have raised serious questions about healthcare access, nutrition, vaccination, roads, transport and the availability of timely medical treatment. In this ground report, we visit the affected villages, meet families, see the living conditions, speak to people receiving treatment and examine how far healthcare actually reaches these remote tribal habitations.
