A major escalation has unfolded in the Russia-Ukraine conflict following a massive overnight Ukrainian drone attack targeting the Moscow region and other Russian cities. Over 1,000 drones were fired, hitting a Moscow oil refinery and killing at least two people in what Russia termed the biggest drone strike on its capital. In response, Russian forces launched strikes across ten regions in Ukraine, hitting logistics hubs, the Odesa Port, Kyiv, and Zaporizhzhia, setting ablaze a warehouse complex and a civilian evacuation centre. The intense strikes on both sides come amid heightened tensions ahead of the United Nations General Assembly meeting in New York.
