Indian stock markets witnessed sharp volatility on September 29 as geopolitical tensions, rising crude oil prices and foreign investor selling kept pressure on equities. The Sensex initially fell nearly 600 points, while the Nifty dropped below the 22,600 level. However, the market later recovered significantly from its morning lows. The previous session had seen the Sensex fall over 1,100 points, while investors saw around ₹7.5 lakh crore wiped off the market capitalisation. Rising Brent crude, concerns over the US-Iran conflict, weak global cues, higher US bond yields and FII outflows remain key factors influencing market sentiment and investor confidence.
