Swami Vivekananda held the view that taking a life for the sake of others’ pleasure or to satisfy one’s own desires represents a degradation of humanity. Love is a sacred bond that unites, whereas violence and murder are the products of a monstrous impulse that leads only to moral decline. We shall now discuss just how violent and anti-human this tendency towards degradation can be. Friends, do you recall Muskan, who murdered her husband, chopped his body into pieces, and hid the remains in a blue drum filled with cement? Today, the court sentenced Muskan Rastogi and her lover, Sahil Shukla, to death. We will now analyze the sentencing of the convicts in this sensational and gruesome murder case; specifically, the Meerut court has awarded the death penalty to Muskan and Sahil Shukla for the murder of Saurabh Rajput.
