A heart-wrenching incident has come to light from Sonipat, Haryana. Shivcharan Ratan Gupta, an elderly textile merchant residing in an old-age home, passed away, but none of his three daughters arrived to pay their last respects or attend the funeral. Consequently, the staff of the old-age home performed his last rites. Originally from Maharashtra, Shivcharan Ratan Gupta had once been a prominent textile merchant. About a year and a half ago, he had moved into the Sonipat old-age home with his wife, Meena Gupta; his wife had already passed away. He had no sons and had educated his three daughters, enabling them to become self-reliant; two of them are teachers.
