In this edition of Tarikh, Divyanshi talks about how the Indian Navy showed its resilience during the 1971 war. In 1965 India started modernising its navy with defence arms pacts with the Soviet Union. In 1971 these purchases helped the navy execute Operation Trident. Another Such was Operation-X, a three-stage naval special operation of the Indian Navy which entailed blocking supplies to damage the war waging potential of Pakistan in the erstwhile East Pakistan.
