Joshimath is sinking gradually with huge cracks developing in houses, on roads and fields. Many houses have tilted and are sinking. Operation to demolish collapsing houses and buildings in the ‘sinking’ town of Joshimath to begin soon. So far, 678 houses in Joshimath have developed cracks, and 81 families have been temporarily shifted to safer locations.
