In this edition of Tarikh, Nikhil narrates the incident when Ex Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh YSR Reddy died in a helicopter crash. YSR reddy was a two-term chief minister who never lost election. On September 2, 2009, his helicopter crashed while he was travelling to Chittoor. The helicopter entangled in a weather storm and crashed in Nallamala forest area. 5000 CRPF personnel, IRSO and Indian Airforce conducted a search operation, and the remains of the helicopter were found after 24 hours. Five people including the chief minister and pilots died in the crash.
