The INDIA bloc, with 24 participating parties, held a virtual meeting to strategize for the upcoming monsoon session of Parliament. The opposition plans to raise several key issues, including the Pahalgam terror attack, Donald Trump’s claims of mediating a truce between India and Pakistan, and the Election Commission’s electoral roll revision in Bihar. The agenda also covers delimitation, atrocities against Dalits, and the Air India plane crash. However, internal frictions have emerged, with Left leaders expressing unhappiness over Rahul Gandhi’s recent remarks in Kerala comparing the CPIM and RSS. This was raised in the meeting by D. Raja. One speaker stated, “I fight the RSS ideologically. I fight the CPM ideologically… my biggest complaint with them, of them, is that they do not have feelings for people.” Despite these differences, the bloc is planning protests in Delhi on July 23rd and 24th and appears united in demanding accountability from the government, particularly a statement from the Prime Minister on the Trump issue, referred to as ‘Operation Sindoor’.
