President Donald Trump has said that countries doing business with Iran would face a 25% tariff on trade with the US (India included), in response to a deadly crackdown on anti-government protests. Meanwhile, Trump is weighing options, best to respond as Iran shows interest in negotiations with the US. At the same time, the situation inside Iran is deteriorating rapidly. Deaths linked to ongoing protests continue to rise, but there are two sharply different narratives. One pushed by Western media and rights groups, and another by the Iranian government, which claims the unrest is being fuelled by foreign intelligence agencies.
