A NCC cadet and Army aspirant was allegedly raped by a Travelling Ticket Examiner (TTE) named Rahul Kumar on the Ahmedabad-Gorakhpur Express train. The victim, returning from her NCC ‘C’ certificate exam in Mau, boarded without a ticket due to crowd. The TTE lured her to the First AC cabin on the pretext of providing a seat, locked the door, and committed the assault. When she resisted and raised an alarm by calling 112, the accused fled at Deoria station. GRP has registered a case, announced a ₹10,000 reward for information leading to his arrest, and sent a letter for his dismissal from Northern Eastern Railway (Varanasi Division).
