A tragic incident in Noida’s Sector 94 has once again exposed serious negligence by local authorities, as a 23-year-old student lost his life after drowning in a water-filled pit at an abandoned construction site. The victim, a BPEd student, had gone to celebrate the end of exams with friends when he accidentally slipped into the deep pit. Despite immediate rescue efforts by police and divers, he could not be saved. This incident echoes past accidents, including the death of engineer Yuvraj, raising serious questions about Noida Authority’s repeated claims of identifying and securing such hazardous “death points.” The lack of action continues to put public safety at risk.
