Uttarakhand disaster: Siddhant Mohan and Mannu Baghel of The Lallantop went to cover the Chamoli disaster and interviewed various people whose family members have lost the hope of getting back and meeting their loved ones. Efforts are underway to rescue workers trapped inside a tunnel in Uttarakhand’s Chamoli district, two days after flash floods in the region swept away almost everything along with the Alaknanda river system. The flash floods that hit parts of Uttarakhand’s Chamoli district two days ago was due to the collapse of a hanging glacier, the scientists at the Wadia Institute of Himalayan Geology suggested in their initial observations.
