Vladivostok, capital city of Russian territory Primorsky Krai in country’s far east, is known as Haishenwai in China. Primorsky Krai and Vladivostok were formerly part of China. Modern-day territory of Vladivostok was part of Manchuria under Qing dynasty rule. It was annexed by the Russian empire in 1860. On July 2, Russian Embassy in China celebrated the 160th foundation day of Vladivostok. Russian Embassy posted a video of this celebration on Chinese social media platform Weibo. Chinese social media users started criticising Russians by reminding them that Vladivostok is originally a chinese land and Russia annexed it through an unequal treaty in 1860.
