In India, donkeys have been placed on the list of animals that are going extinct. According to FSSAI, Food Safety and Standards Authority of India, donkeys are not registered as ‘food animals’. It is illegal to kill them. But after killing donkeys in Andhra Pradesh, their remains are being thrown into the canals risking public health. His meat is being sold in the market for around 600 rupees. Donkeys are being killed and meat is being sold in many districts of Andhra Pradesh along with West Godavari.
