The Patna High Court has directed the Congress party to remove an AI-generated video featuring Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s late mother from all social media platforms. The order was issued by the Acting Chief Justice of the Patna High Court while hearing a petition in the matter of Vivekananda Singh versus Union of India. The court found merit in the petitioner’s plea and has instructed the Congress party to stop all streaming of the video. The lawyer who represented the Centre, Mr. Ratnesh Khushwaha, stated, “The court appreciated the petitioners plea and directed the respondents Congress party to stop all the live streaming of that…derogatory video.” The video had been strongly criticised, and the court’s directive is viewed as a significant setback for the Congress. The matter is scheduled to be heard again in two weeks.
