On the other hand, global tensions remain high on threats of US President Donald Trump on the Greenland issue. Trump says US control of the island is essential for American security, citing China and Russia. Denmark has firmly rejected this demand. NATO allies are increasing military activity in the Arctic, raising fears of a deeper transatlantic rift.
