Former IPS officer and social activist Amitabh Thakur is once again in the spotlight. Currently lodged in judicial custody, a fresh controversy has emerged around his arrest and the handling of his personal belongings by the police.
A complaint has been filed in the Deoria Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) court alleging that during Amitabh Thakur’s arrest, the police seized several items including cash, mobile phones, a laptop, clothes and even toothpaste—but later returned them only partially. His advocate claims that while ₹42,000 in cash and multiple items were taken into custody, only ₹7,208 and a single unlocked phone were returned. The non-return of certain items, including toothpaste, has raised serious questions and suspicions. Watch the video to know more.
