The Allahabad High Court has raised serious concerns over the condition of forensic laboratories in Uttar Pradesh, stating that delays and deficiencies in DNA testing are affecting criminal investigations and court proceedings. The Court observed that in several rape and murder cases, accused persons are getting bail because crucial scientific evidence cannot be conclusively established. The remarks came while hearing a rape and murder case in which the forensic lab failed to generate a complete DNA profile. The Court has directed that its order be sent to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and urged the government to strengthen forensic infrastructure.
