Lieutenant General Dhiraj Seth has been appointed as the next Chief of the Army Staff of India. He is currently serving as the Vice Chief of the Army Staff. He will take charge on June 30, 2026, after General Upendra Dwivedi retires. Lt Gen Seth joined the Indian Army in 1986 and has nearly 40 years of experience. He has led important military formations and commands across the country. He has also worked on modernizing the Army and preparing it for future challenges. His long service, leadership, and experience make him one of India’s most respected military officers.
