A controversy has erupted in Uttarakhand’s famous Kainchi Dham just a day before its annual foundation day celebrations. Two police constables deployed on fair duty have been accused of sexually harassing a local homestay manager’s daughter. The allegations triggered protests by local residents, who demanded strict action against the accused. According to reports, both policemen were allegedly under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident. The administration has ordered an investigation, while local traders and residents have also raised concerns over strict restrictions imposed ahead of the event. The matter has intensified public anger and scrutiny.
