A Malta-flagged vessel, Vishta, carrying 62,370 metric tons of liquefied natural gas (LNG) from Lasufan Port, has successfully docked at Dahej Port in Bharuch, Gujarat. This marks the first LNG-laden vessel to reach India via the Strait of Hormuz following the ceasefire and memorandum of understanding between the United States and Iran. The vessel was reportedly delayed in the Strait of Hormuz region for nearly three and a half months due to the conflict, which had caused major disruptions in global natural gas supplies. The arrival signifies a resumption of maritime trade and operations through the strategic waterway.
