According to sources, six rebel Members of Parliament from the Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) faction are set to formalise their split from the party today. The rebel MPs are expected to hold a joint press conference to announce their decision and explain the circumstances that led to their departure. They are likely to merge with the Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena faction. The six MPs—Sanjay Jadhav, Bhausaheb Wakchoure, Omraje Nimbalkar, Sanjay Deshmukh, Nagesh Patil Ashtekar, and Sanjay Dina Patil—skipped a crucial parliamentary party meeting called by the Sena UBT on Thursday. Only three MPs, Arvind Sawant, Anil Desai, and Rajabhau Waje, attended the meeting. Following their absence, the Sena UBT Chief Whip issued a show-cause notice giving them 24 hours to explain, but no response has been received. The rebel MPs are also expected to release photos and videos of their meeting with Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, along with the letter they submitted to him regarding the split.
