A fire at a gaming and animation centre in Lucknow has claimed the lives of 15 youngsters, with victims primarily aged between 15 and 24. Four others sustained injuries and are undergoing treatment at the KGMU Trauma Center. The blaze, suspected to be caused by a short circuit, trapped the students on the second floor as the building reportedly lacked fire exits. Witnesses alleged a 30-minute delay in the arrival of fire tenders, forcing some individuals to jump from windows to escape. The ground floor, which housed a pet store, was also affected, and rescue operations for the caged animals are underway. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath cancelled his scheduled visit to Aligarh to return to Lucknow and ordered a probe into the incident. Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak assured strict action against officials found responsible for safety lapses. The fire has been completely doused, and authorities are investigating the absence of fire safety measures.
