The re-examination for NEET UG 2026 concluded securely with over twenty lakh students participating. The testing agency confirmed the integrity of the process, stating there were no leaks, despite isolated cheating attempts reported in Bihar, including Lakhi Sarai, involving mobile phone smuggling and impersonation. Security measures, including biometric authentication and CCTV surveillance, successfully intercepted these malpractices. The agency highlighted vulnerabilities in the Telegram application, specifically its backdate editing feature, which facilitates scams. Communications with the application’s management led to an acknowledgment of these system flaws. Furthermore, the testing agency addressed the spread of misinformation and fake videos regarding paper leaks, warning of strict legal action against perpetrators. Looking ahead, the government has accepted recommendations from a high-level committee to transition future medical entrance examinations to a computer-based testing format. Planning for this transition will commence following the completion of the current examination cycle, which includes the UGC NET. Results for the recently concluded medical entrance examination will be declared soon.
