JSSC-CGL: What Does the High Court Order Actually Say? | Ranchi Protest
The demand to cancel the JSSC-CGL examination remains one of the major points of contention in the ongoing Ranchi student protest. The Jharkhand government has cited court directions while refusing to cancel the CGL exam, arguing that the examination was conducted under judicial directions and therefore cannot simply be cancelled by the state government.
But protesters are questioning the government’s interpretation of the High Court order. What did the court actually say? Did the order prohibit cancellation of the CGL examination, or is the order being interpreted differently?
In this report, we examine the court order, the government’s argument and the protesters’ claims to understand the complete legal and factual picture surrounding JSSC-CGL.
