Four CISF personnel were killed after a colleague allegedly opened fire at a CISF camp deployed at the Sewa-2 Hydroelectric Project in Kathua, Jammu and Kashmir.
The incident took place during a duty change, when an argument reportedly broke out among CISF personnel. The situation escalated into firing, leaving four personnel critically injured. All four later succumbed to their injuries.
The deceased have been identified as Assistant Commandant and Company Commander Ankit Kumar Pandey, Sub-Inspector Lakshman Singh, Constable Sanjeev Kumar and Constable Mohd. Rafiq.
The suspected shooter, identified as CISF Head Constable Awdhesh Singh, has been apprehended. Kathua Police are investigating the incident, while the CISF headquarters has ordered a Court of Inquiry to establish the sequence of events and determine what led to the firing.
