After two Election Commissioners and the Goa CEO, the Maharashtra CEO has now raised questions regarding the Election Commission’s systems. Amidst the SIR process, Maharashtra CEO S. Chockalingam has written to the Election Commission seeking modifications to ECINet. He argues that local election officials—specifically Electoral Registration Officers (EROs)—should be able to exercise their statutory powers through the software itself. Additionally, Chockalingam has requested five specific changes to the ECINet software.
