A major political controversy erupted in Delhi after a video surfaced showing BJP leader Parvesh Sahib Singh Verma slapping a person Sahib Singh, during an inspection of road construction work in Vikaspuri. Following the incident, Delhi Police registered a Non-Cognizable Report (NCR) under Section 115 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) for voluntarily causing hurt based on Sahib Singh’s complaint, while the Aam Aadmi Party led by Arvind Kejriwal, Saurabh Bharadwaj, and Tilak Nagar MLA Jarnail Singh staged a protest march demanding an immediate FIR and arrests. While AAP leaders alleged corruption and substandard road work being exposed on camera triggered the assault, Parvesh Verma defended his actions, alleging misbehavior by the AAP MLA and abusive language directed at his family by the party worker.
